Hi, I’m Luke O’Connell – the founder of Wave Barbershop and Business Education.
At just 19 years old, I’ve built my career from the ground up, starting less than three years ago as a student at Ballincollig Community College. From early on, I knew that the traditional academic path wasn’t for me. It wasn’t until I discovered barbering that I found my passion—and the direction I wanted to take my life.
After qualifying as a barber less than two years ago, I committed fully to the craft and the business behind it. With the support of my business development partner, Michael, I moved quickly from being employed to self-employed, then on to opening my own barbershop—and now, mentoring and educating others who want to follow a similar path.
At Wave, our goal isn’t just to give great haircuts—it’s to build a brand centered around quality, professionalism, and opportunity. Whether you’re sitting in the barber chair or learning through our educational platform, you’re stepping into a space built on passion, purpose, and proven growth.
